Excel translate using a formula

Google Sheets allows formulas to translate text from one language to another   =Googletranslate(A2, "en", "es"). Excel has a "translate" feature but it seems like it has been intentionally dummied down to not work in formulas. Is that true? Can a formula be used in Excel to translate text from one language to another using the Bing Translate database?

Hi, I'm Elise, an independent advisor and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

Unfortunately there isn't a direct equivalent of the GOOGLETRANSLATE function in excel without third party add-in, the closed function which I see you have already tried is: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/exce...

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise

No. Excel does not have that sort of function.

The "translate" function addin is used to translate the elements of a formula/function from one language to another, not to translate text values between languages.

Thank You. I found a workaround using a document translate feature in word.

Thanks. I was able to translate in bulk by putting the words in a word doc and using the translate document feature.

If you are willing to work outside of Excel, then there are also online translation tools like "Google translate".
