How to clear the history in the mail search box in Outlook 2019

I am using the outlook 2019 client. I would like to ask how to clear the history record in the mail search box.

I have tried the operation method in the above link and it does not work.
The corresponding value is deleted in the registry, and the history can still be seen after reopening Outlook.

In my registry (\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles\Outlook\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046), 101f0445 is no longer found, but you can still see the history in the Outlook search box.

Did you try restarting your computer after deleting the registry entries?

What's the account that you are working with?

Based on my tests with my acounts, we could delete the records for some accounts(such as gmail) via delete the register key under your profile, but for Microsoft 365 account, we may need also to delete the records on your web mail(options> view all options>General>Privacy and Datas >delete history).

I don't quite understand what you mean, what does count mean?

I use the Outlook client in Office 2019 Professional plus to send and receive emails.

I just mean the mailbox that you are working with, if you are using Microsoft 365 mailbox, we could log in web mail to delete the history as I mentioned above.

Hi,

IWe could check the account information in Outlook like below(click "File" and check the Info field)

Due to some search history may be saved in your mailbox, if you are working with Microsoft 365 accoount and there's also a web mail link under your account information as I post above, please try to log in your web mail and remove the history to check :)

Hi,

Please undestand Office 2019 is the client instead of mailbox, we could find the account type as I post above(such as my account type is "Microsoft Exchange"),

Also, in order to avoid any interference of current outlook profile, we could try to recreate a new Outlook profile and readd your account to check if the issue has any difference there, for more information about how to create a new Outlook profile and swicth to it , please refer to this document:

Have you tried to test on a new Outlook profile? It would further confirm if your search records are stored in your Exchange mailbox or local outlook profile.

Hi,

Thanks for your update and sorry for delay and sorry for delay. I mean we could try to create a new Outlook profile and readd this account instead of a new account. If the issue could be reproduced on new Outlook profile, your search records may be stored in your mailbox and we couldn't delete them in Outlook desktop client, it's recommended to contact your exchange administrator to check.

Thank you very much for your reply. I did an experiment: reinstalled office and re-used outlook, and the problem remained the same. It should be that what you said is related to the server configuration, and it may not be deleted locally.crying...

Is this Outlook 2019 C2R or Microsoft Store Version?
you need Load hive to access Registry if this is Microsoft Store version.
you can fine under file > Office account > About Outlook
