Hi, I recently bought an Asus Zenbook and my PgDn button is together with my down arrow key as shown. And I did the shortcut of Ctrl-PgDn but it doesn’t change to the next sheet in Excel. It work on other laptops if the button is not together with the down arrow. I am using the Excel on Microsoft 365 app on student account. Thanks

    Hi Ryan,

If so, you can send the feedback in Excel app and related product team could get informed about the issue with specific PCs. Sorry to convey that engineers here have limited resources on further investigate the issue.

If the button is also unable to work in other Office apps like Word or OneNote, I would suggest you post a new thread under the category: Excel / Windows 10 / Microsoft Office Programming and let engineers there know that you need a VBA to realize the function of switching between sheets. You will get response in hours and don't worry if it's the first time to use VBA as they will show you the detailed steps.

Hope this workaround could meet your deadline to assignment. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the feature incompatible. And I have submitted the feedback with the button issue on specific PC model.

    Best Regards,

    Mia

    Hi Mia,

I have figured the correct shortcut key to change tabs for laptops who have PgDn key in the down arrow. It is not taught in google apparently.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Ryan,

Sorry for all the inconvenience it may have caused on your side.

Generally, the shortcut should be Ctrl+PgDn to switch to the next sheet in a Excel workbook. However, it seems like the keyboard on this new laptop has a bit difference. Hence, please check following details and see if they could offer some help.

1.As you can see, the ← and → button also have another word below the arrow icon called 'home' and 'end', which should also be there on the normal keyboard for a PC keyboard.

Hence, I had a guess that there has another shortcut for users working with this laptop to activate the below command on some buttons with two functions. I think you can have a try with Shift, alt, or fn like press Ctrl+Shift+ ↓(PgDn) together to check the result. Also, I would suggest you to confirm this feature on the laptop support side as even if the following advanced way could fix the issue on Excel workbooks, you may still need use PgDn/PgUp function for other applications besides Excel.

2.For Excel app itself, it can be added some Macros(VBA codes) to realize the function of switching sheets. Sorry that engineers here have limited experience on coding Macros and here are some links just for the reference: Switch from sheet to sheet in Excel (officetuts.net) and Switching sheets in Excel VBA - Stack Overflow.

In this situation, I would sincerely recommend you to have a confirmation with the laptop side and make sure you will be able to use the full function of the keyboard for a better experience. Also sorry again for not being able to provide more suggestions from the Excel side.

Appreciate your understanding and hope the keyboard issue could get the appropriate resolution soon.

    Best Regards,

    Mia

Hi, Thanks for the reply. But because my PgDn key is together with the down arrow, this shortcut key doesn’t work. I tried but ended up in the last cell instead.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I went to the laptop side to ask yesterday but they told me this is a Microsoft issue, hence I came into this forum to seek help.

I have tried Ctrl+Shift+Down Arrow, it doesn’t work. I tried with the Alt+Down arrow, it just jumps to a few cell below. Fn+Down arrow does the same as well. Because I am doing an assignment for my school and one of the requirement is I have to show the lecturer I can toggle between Excel sheets, if not it will be a failing component. Sigh.
