    Hi Venu _G_R

Thanks for posting the thread on our forum.

According to your description, it seems that you want to change the default grey color in rows and columns in Excel.

May I know if my understanding is correct? If so, you can follow the below steps to do that:

Open a Excel sheet>selected the rows or columns you want to change their colors>right click >Format cells>Fill effects>under colors bar, click the color 2 to choose what color you want to use >click OK>OK. > then you can see the rows and columns changed the color to what you want as the screenshot below:

If my understanding is incorrect, please feel free to post back we'll continue to help you in anytime.

    Best regards,

    Stacey

    Hi Stacey,

Thanks for your quick response, am not looking for colour change in cells, its in row & column heads like row - 1,2,3.. & columns A,B,C.. In below image look at the row & column header ie "D" column and row "5" [not the cell] which background got highlighted with grey shade, that i want to change it to different colour. As understood it was available in previous versions of excel, but in MS Office 365 [excel] not available.

The grey color is part of the application color scheme. I don't recall being able to change that in earlier versions of Office.

    .

You can change it in Windows, by picking a different "Windows Theme". In earlier versions of Windows, that was something we could do, change individual settings. But that is one of many Windows user control settings / features that MS has (dis)"improved" out of recent versions of Windows. In the past we could also create custom "Windows themes". I don't know if that is still possible.

In this tutorial, you will learn 3 different ways to dynamically highlight the row and column of a selected cell in Excel.

When viewing a large worksheet for a long time, you may eventually lose track of where your cursor is and which data you are looking at. To know exactly where you are at any moment, get Excel to automatically highlight the active row and column for you! Naturally, the highlighting should be dynamic and change every time you select another cell. Essentially, this is what we are aiming to achieve:

    Hi Stacey , Rohnski2

Sorry for late reply from my end as got stuck up in other key things.. Thanks for your help and understanding about the issue & addressing the same in quickly time.

As suggested KuTool is helping out in resolving my issue, am using as of now. Only hassle is some times excel application getting hung up with enabling the KuTool options, otherwise its fine.

Thanks a lot for your help :-) Am expecting Microsoft will help in future in enabling such option in excel application itself.

    Thanks & Regards.

    Venu
