Hello again Tin,
I finally had a chance to test your suggestions, but unfortunately the problem remains.
I have one more observation: Excel takes about a minute to shut down, but only the final instance if i have more than one open.
Cheers
Jens

Hello all,
This is how it looks when i start the vba editor in any office program:
The interface is unresponsive except the background reacts to mouseover by turning light blue - but no right click menus or anything useful.
I uninstalled and reinstalled office completely.
Has anyone got a clue?
Cheers
Jens
