Excel Click Status Bar to Copy to Clipboard NOT Working After Update

Question

My office apps received an update, and now I've lost a function in excel. I can no longer click the sum in the status bar to copy it to my clipboard. How do I restore this function?

Thanks for posting the thread on our forum.

According to your description, it seems that you can’t copy to the clipboard when you click the sum feature. As you’ve mentioned, this issue started after updating, I suppose you have updated to 2112 (Build 14729.20260). To confirm, in Excel, click File>Account, check under Product Information. I tested on my end based on your post, I can copy sum to clipboard  as  the screenshot below:

Please try to create a new workbook to see if the same problem will happen. If the issue appears in new workbook as well, try  repairing Office, refer to Repair an Office application (microsoft.com)

If the issue persists, in order to  help us narrow down the problem, kindly provide us with the information below

1. Please provide the screenshot of Excel version to us. Open Excel>File>Account, look for the information under Product Information to take a screenshot.
2. You said you can’t click the Sum, which means the button disappear or it doesn’t work? Please try clicking other option such as Average or Count, see if they copy to clipboard.
3. Did you get  an error when you do this in your environment? Can you provide the screenshot?
