Hi,

I am having an issue currently where I am unable to @mention a specific user on Microsoft Lists.

They are apart of the Team and I can assign that user to any item on that list but then when trying to @mention that specific user they don't appear as a user.

Any reason as to why?

Thanks

    Dear Jordan,

Thanks for writing back and sharing the requested inforamtion with us.

The problem you are encountering is not an expected behavior, so I suggest you to contact the IT admin of the Office 365 organization to create a support ticket from the Office 365 Admin Center so the related develpment team can do the further investigation

    Hi Mia,

Yes for whatever reason this one user is the only user that you can't @mention.

But the user has exactly the same policies applied to them as every other users in that Team.

And yes, it was a different users that arose the issues to myself that they couldn't @mention this particular user. I then tested myself and got exactly the same.

I also get the same when trying to @mention them in Word yes. hadn't thought to check that...

    Thanks

    Jordan

    Dear Jordan,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Per the description shared, I would like to summarize your concern i.e., you are not able to find a specific user during @mention in the Comments of the Microsoft lists.

If my understanding is correct, I have tested the bebavior at my end where I can't see any problem but since you mentioned the problem is only with a specific user, I would like you to ask whether the other users also have the same behavior when they try to @ the problematic user?

In addition, if you try to mention the user in the comments via Word document or Excel file, does the user appear?

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
    Mia | Microsoft Community Moderator
