I get the following error in Windows 11 when I try to connect to a certain computer with Remote Desktop. It was working fine before I accidentally selected delete credentials. Now it refuses to connect and not even a System Restore could fix the problem. My laptop and other PC can connect to the remote computer without any problems. What can I do to fix this please? Strangely enough Remote Desktop works fine when creating a new user account on the affected machine and using it under the new user account.

    sfc/scannow didn't work for me (win 10 pro 21H2).

I can affirm the issue is related to MicroSoft's mstsc client.

3rd party (non-microsoft) remote desktop tools DO work on the same computer to connect to the same server, using the same account/credentials.

This issue occurs when running Remote Desktop elevated as a different user, and that different user account has never logged in to the workstation (no complete local profile). I've submitted a bug report to Microsoft, please help me get some traction on it with an upvote! https://aka.ms/AAkm0o2
