I am trying to export a generated file in my Access Program to Excel. Had no issues until last weeks update.

Code has not changed -- I can export to Word and Pdf still but getting an Error to Excel with Visual Basic Code Syntax Error.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Any thoughts on how to manipulate the issue

Thank you

Michelle

    Dear Michelle,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

According to description, you get error when trying to export generated file from Access to Excel. It seems like it worked fine until last week update.

May I know if the error message is "Microsoft Access can't complete the Output operation. The Visual Basic code you entered contains a syntax error or the Output procedures are not available", as shown below?

If yes, recently we notice other users reported this similar issue when exporting reports from Access to Excel.

May I know if you are using Current Channel, version 2206 ?

If yes, there is an update available, you may update to latest version 2206(15330.20264) and see if it can resolve the issue. You can update Office by clicking File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Here are similar threads for reference:

Since latest Microsoft Update: Access (Office 365) unable to export reports to Excel.

MS Access "Can't complete the Output operation"

    Hope above can help you!

If you are not using Current Channel of Access, feel free to post back and share with us a screenshot of Product Information as shown below(you can get it from File>Account). We will continue trying best to assist you.

We look forward to your reply. Thanks for your cooperation.

Hope you keep safe and healthy always!

    Sincerely,

    Michelle,

Do you know which update caused the error? We had many Office updates run last week and I'd rather not uninstall 50+ updates from a server.

    Dear Mark TC,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the issue.

From Product Information you shared, you have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016. It seems it's MSI version of Office 2016.

We suggest you refer to Shane's replies in this similar thread: MS Access "Can't complete the Output operation"

And you can check this article about when update will be available for your Office:

I am having the same issue, started 7-19-22. I cannot export a report to Excel and I have reports due. It says I have the most updated version. Nothing has changed on my end.

Says - "The Visual Basic code you entered contains a syntax error or the Output procedures are not available"
