Activating Power Query Editor in Excel for Mac

According to this Microsoft Support page and various third party sources, Excel for Mac users should be able to activate Power Query Editor assuming they have opted into the Office Insider Program. I have followed these instructions to opt into the Insider program by setting my Update Channel to Beta, which apparently should enable me to download the additional features to activate Power Query Editor. However, after running Microsoft AutoUpdate, it says that Excel is fully up-to-date on my computer and there are no options for me to download these additional features.

Is anyone else running Excel for Mac experiencing similar issues? Has anyone found a solution?

I am running Microsoft Excel version 16.62. I have the most up-to-date version of Mac OS. According to all Microsoft documentation on this topic, I should be able to access these features, so I'm not sure what's going wrong.

Go to the Data tab of the Ribbon and click Queries & Connections.

Does the Connection Description match what you expect?

    Good afternoon.

No, it doesn't look like I would expect.

There are actually several queries. Each one runs against a single worksheet table, shaping the data. Then a final query combines them all into one consolidated dataset for analysis and reporting. I would expect to see each query's unique name (that I gave it when I created it), but here's the screenshot. I tried widening the "Description" column, but all it says is "Connection to", nothing further. And I don't see any option for editing anything, even when I right-click on each one.

BTW, I love PowerQuery. Would have saved me so many hours over the years. Really hope I can get it fully functional in Excel for Mac.

    Thx, rink.

    Hi

I confirm that query names are not displaying as expected. I gave queries custom names and the names are not displayed.

BTW, you can turn column names on and off by right-clicking a query name in the dialog. Unfortunately, the dialog can't be resized.

Use the Help menu to report this misbehavior to Microsoft. Choose Feedback > I Don't Like Something to let them know there's an issue.

    Good afternoon.

By the way...I also don't see any options for "editing" an existing PowerQuery. And the "Properties" button never lights up when selecting any of the queries in the list. Am I missing something? What's the magic step to edit an existing query?

    Thx, rink.
