Excel 2019 application not opening from run command excel.exe

Help required. I am unable to open excel application entirely. I have tried all online fix instructions found in searches, updated windows 11, updated office, then done both basic and advanced repair of office app, restarting multiple times, even tried to change default printer, running the app from the run command excel.exe /safe, etc. And just can't open it. the below screenshot is what appears when running the excel.exe command or clicking desktop icon. Clicking safe mode or normal button on the screen shot error produces the same result, for a millisecond the excel logo appears on the task bar and disappears. Nothing else happens from there, no green load screen, no further error code pop ups, nothing. Dreading having to delete office and reinstall due to data loss particularly in outlook. Would be interested in a method to uninstall and reinstall Excel only if at all possible? PS all other programs in office 2019 home/business work fine also, excel is the only issue.

    Hi ChrisTre

    Thanks for your response.

It seems that the installation of Excel components from Office 2021 will not launch successfully, so the manual uninstall steps may not fix the problem,

Preliminary determination that this problem comes from your system. There are many reasons for the problem of the system. Please try to overwrite your Windows 11 installation and follow the steps below:

1-Download and run the Media Creation Tool.

2-Now select the "Upgrade this PC now" option.

3-The installer will prepare the necessary files, so you need to wait.

4-Select Download and install updates (recommended) and click Next.

5-Wait for the update to download.

6-Follow the on-screen instructions. On the Ready to Install screen, click the Change what to keep option.

7-Select Keep personal files and apps and click Next.

8-Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade process.

Note: Although this repair installation can solve most problems, in order to avoid your data loss, we recommend that you back up some important data.

    Keep us posted.

    Hi Chandy,

I Put your replace Windows 11 files on my things to do this coming weekend, but have just returned to my office now. Toiling away on work I looked at an email in outlook with excel file and amazingly outlook showed the attachment as a preview when I single clicked on it from my automatic habit with attachments. What?? I then double clicked to open attachment and Excel 2021 fired up asking again the original image posted on this thread. Clicked safe mode button and excel opening box dialogue came up and the program fired up! To then say file cant be opened in safe mode. Closed. Double clicked on Excel shortcut on desktop, Excel opened up like no problems have been going on with my system for the past 3 weeks. Just checked update history, doesn't seem my system did any auto updates... Lets leave this thread open to see what happens in the coming days after shutting down and restarting. Will reply in a few days if it continues to operate normally, or not. Im shocked, but happy for now none the less!

    Hi ChrisTre

It's really a miracle, of course, if you need to make repairs to the system. The above steps can also help you.
