For this to work, use the "Match case" option in the expanded Find & Replace dialog box.
Find and Replace in Word not working
I am trying to use the 'Find and Replace' facility in a Word document. The machine tells me it has replaced 24 occurrences but nothing has changed in the document. I have used this many times before and never had any trouble, so am completely mystified. I have even tried saving the document with another name and then reopening it but the result is the same. The breadcrumb line has 'compatibility mode' in it, but don't know if that is relevant.

2023-03-01T12:42:57+00:00 Hi Carow, thank you for coming to the forum.
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're facing, I will be happy to assist in the best way I can.
Please try the steps below:
- Run Excel in safe mode: Type Run in the search bar > type excel.exe/safe if there's no problem when in safe mode, the issue might be in your add-ins.
- In your excel > click File > option > advance > uncheck the 'Disable hardware graphics acceleration under Display.
- Try repairing your Office apps to fix the issue, click the link for the complete guide.

Kind Regards Myk

2023-03-02T11:32:24+00:00 Thanks for this, but it is actually a Word document I am having trouble with, as Suzanne has pointed out. However, I think the principle is the same. I think I managed to open Word in Safe mode, but it made no difference, and it seems to be only this particular document I am having trouble with. I have changed the relevant parts manually now, but am still puzzled.
