I did Unprotect Sheet, and then I could add Notes again. After Protect Sheet again only add Comment possible … 🤔
"New Note" missing in Excel
I'm working in Excel with Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021, updated with Microsoft 365.
For school purposes, I need to be able to add/insert comments and notes to a cell.
Unfortunately, I only have access to comments. So, I can't add a note.
It's not available when I click right on a cell or in the "Review" tab.
I've tried to:
- Open a new workbook
- Update my program
- Open my doc in Excel safe
- Repair Microsoft 365 in Control Panel
- Checked in File - Options - Advanced in which there is only the mention of comments, no note
- In Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications, I've implemented the workaround stated in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/missing-new-comment-and-new-note-from-excel-s-context-menu-d92fac0d-1d14-4fa2-a597-a880e776d177
- Open the Visual Basic Editor (VBE) by pressing Alt+F11.
- Insert a new module from Insert> Module.
- Copy and paste the following code into the empty module pane on the right: Sub ShowButtonsAgain()
Dim bar As CommandBar
For Each bar In Application.CommandBars
bar.Reset
Next
End Sub - Press F5 to run the code.
- Exit back to Excel by pressing Alt+Q, and verify that the Comment and Note options have been restored.
Nothing has worked.
Does anyone have a fix?
Thank you so much for your attention and participation.
