    Dear Barrie Porter,

    Good day!!

I understand you are using the Windows 7 SP1 PC and are unable to sign in to the OneDrive sync client. If yes, I would like to convey that OneDrive sync client support is ended on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 but they have provided a related version download package that can run on the older OS version.

    Reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-system-requirements-cc0cb2b8-f446-445c-9b52-d3c2627d681e

So, I suggest you uninstall the current OneDrive sync client from the Control Panel and remove the OneDrive folder from the following path:

Open your File Explorer> C drive> Users> Open the Folder with the problematic User Profile name> AppData (If it's hidden, check the hidden items in the View tab)> Local> Microsoft> Move OneDrive folder to the Desktop location.

Moreover, make sure you have upgraded TLS on your system since TLS 1.0 is deprecated.

Now restart your PC and install the OneDrive sync client from this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-desktop-app-for-earlier-versions-of-windows-850703dd-ea56-4c7a-bff5-6c2e4da227cf

If the problem still persists, I would like to suggest you to post your concern in the Microsoft Q&A Community: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/  to get the help from experts.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience.

    Have a good day!!

    Best Regards, Sophia
