How to make a copyable string of text in the cell instead of the option to copy the formula

I’m using the & symbol to combine information from columns of text into strings that occur in another column which will be file names for many different files. I need to be able to then click on the cell having the combined string of text and copy not the formula in the cell, but the actual text. How can I do this?

    Dear Postingnow,

    Welcome to the forum here.

It seems that you want to only copy the formula result values. If yes, if you select the second paste option, can you paste the text as follows?

If something is misunderstood, welcome to post back with your updates at your convenience.

Thanks for your effort and time!

    Sincerely,

No I’m wanting a single cell to have a string of text that includes verbiage that I’m going to add plus some results from other cells and. I then want someone to be able to click on that cell, copy it, and then be able to paste it somewhere else (such as into a file name) and it actually have the string of text shown in the cell instead of pasting showing something like: A1&A2&”text” .

to be able to click on that cell, copy it, and then be able to paste it somewhere else (such as into a file name)

This is normal copy paste behaviour, even if the cell has a formula in it. Can you be more specific about where stuff is being pasted?

I copied from the cell that showed text and I tried to paste it into a file name when saving a file. I also pasted it into Microsoft Word. It copied the formula and not the text that was showing in the cell.

    I copied from the cell

I've got to check; you're not going into the cell as if to edit it, then selecting the formula, then copying?

I was just selecting the cell (not double-clicking it), ctrl+c, then pasting to a filename field in windows explorer using ctrl+v. The formula result is what was pasted, not the formula itself.
