Project for the Web - group cannot view project

Hi, my colleague has a P3 licence and created a project in Project for the web. He shared the project with an existing M365 group (created via a team) and added a Project tab to the team. However no one else in the team can view the project (they all have E3 licences but not Project licences). I was under the impression that those with E3 licences could view projects that have been shared with them and also carry out limited editing tasks.

(tried to upload an image but it wouldn't work - the message we get in the team is: No Project subscription found. Looks like you don't have a subscription to Project. If you need one, contact your Office 365 admin.)

Any help with where we might have gone wrong would be great.

    Dear Annabel House,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft community. We are glad to help you.

We go through your description carefully, we think the users still need a project license since E3 licenses don't contain a Project license: Microsoft 365 E3 | Microsoft 365 Enterprise. Please check the details in this article.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation! Hope you keep safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,

    Sean | Microsoft Community Moderator
