Date Does Not Automatically Update in Microsoft Forms

I have a Microsoft form that I have to share using the "Anyone can respond" option so it is not tied to a Microsoft account. One of the questions in this form requires the employees to select the current date. The issue here is the date in the dropdown calendar does not automatically highlight the current date, and all too often, the employees select the highlighted date even when it is wrong which negatively impacts some metrics. The only solution I have been able to find is a browser extension that will refresh the page at whatever interval I set, but this stops working if someone closes/reopens the browser window. I used to have this same form using Google forms, and I never had this issue. Shouldn't the date in the dropdown calendar be tied to the date on the PC? It doesn't seem to be in my case. Any assistance is appreciated.

    Dear Louis Phelps,

Thank you for posting back and sharing with me the detailed information.

It seems that this date not update issue only occurs in a specific Microsoft Form.

For this specific Form, you may try collecting response by using link Only people in your organization can respond and require users sign in to access the form.

If same issue still happens, I understand how frustrating this situation can be and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

I'm afraid the problem is related to the backend and it's better to further check the Form from backend by the related team. So, I suggest you raise a support ticket from the Office 365 admin center, where the related team will collect the background logs and find out the cause of the problem. This would be the most efficient way in handling this case for you.

Apologies for redirecting you to the related team support as the moderators in this community have limited resources to check the backend information, and to get the fast and better assistance we requested for it.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Sincerely,

The form is used within the same building where I am located so the time zone settings should not be an issue unless it's with the server this form resides on. I do not use this form, but if/when I do access it, I do so from my desk and the highlighted date is correct, but I am also logged into my Microsoft account when I do. The form is shared so that anyone with a link to the form can respond to it so the employees do not need to log into their accounts to access it (this is not an option).

We have other Microsoft forms that we use, but I have not heard of this issue with any of those. However, each require the employee to log in to their account to access them, so it seems to be specific to this form.

    Dear Louis Phelps,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the date in the dropdown calendar does not automatically highlight the current date in Microsoft Forms. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

As far as I know, the date in the dropdown calendar is not tied to the date on the PC. It is based on the time zone settings of the form creator.

Since you are the form's creator, may I know if it works fine when you try to answer the form and select date in the dropdown calendar?

To narrow down the situation, may I know if this issue happens in a specific form or different forms?

Look forward to your reply. Thanks for your time and cooperation!

We hope you stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,

    Tina | Microsoft Community Moderator
