Make bars same width on identical Excel charts on Mac

Hello, I have a number of identically sized Excel charts to which I've applied the format of the first.

BUT:

  1. how do I adjust the bar width to get them the same in each chart? The gap width and other settings are identical but the bars are different widths
  2. the % dots overlaid as a secondary series lie over the bars in some charts, but not in others. This seems random.

What do I need to adjust so each graph is identically formatted please?

Thank you

If the number of columns of data represented is not the same in both charts, the column widths will not be visually the same.

Can you provide a sample data set?
