How to Disable update links message during opening excel file?

Question

I get following message during opening excel file in Excel 2003.

I already follow this step for setup, but still receive above pop up message

1) DataEdit Links

2) Edit LinksStartup Prompt

When I set following option, then following message is gone

Step 1 : Tool > Option > Unclick Auto update link

Step 2: but I also set following option

This Startup Prompt option is update link in step 2, but Auto update link is unselected in Step 1.

I would like to know on what is going on for those setting.

Step 1 is not auto update link

Step 2 is update link

That is confusing

Do you have any suggestions?

To eliminate the update links message when opening an Excel file, perform the following steps:

• Launch the Excel workbook containing the external links. • Navigate to the "Data" tab on the Excel ribbon. • Locate the "Edit Links" option in the Connections group and click on it. • In the "Edit Links" dialog box, proceed to the bottom and click the "Startup Prompt" button. • Inside the "Startup Prompt" dialog, you have two options to choose from: • Select "Don't display the alert and don't update automatic links" to suppress the message and prevent link updates. • Choose "Don't display the alert and update links" to suppress the message and enable automatic link updates. • Confirm your selection by clicking "OK" and close the "Startup Prompt" dialog. • To finalize the process, click "Close" on the "Edit Links" dialog box. • After completing these steps, the update links message should no longer appear when you open the workbook. If the issue persists, ensure that the links within the workbook are valid and not broken. Additionally, consider updating your Excel version if you are using an outdated version like Excel 2003, as it may lack support for certain features or settings available in newer versions.
