Spacing issues across same document, different saved locations - OneDrive and local - Word for the Mac 16.75

Hello,

I am working on a document on Mac word version 16.75, there is two working copies one that is saved on my computer and one that I cut and paste and save on the OneDrive file (that is linked). When I copy and paste the document from the computer saved one to the OneDrive the spacing is a little off and sections are not matched across both papers - I am trying for calibri 12pt and 1.15 line spacing, I have looked at font -> advanced and both settings match across the two documents.

Thanks for your help.

[...] The browser version is the only way to edit live and collaborate with others. Why would it not function appropriately when it comes to page length? Why would the spacing be slightly off? (pages are displaying longer in browser version vs. opening with app/PDF). Ultimately OneDrive/SharePoint doesn't work if I can't finish a document with confidence it is correctly/cleanly formatted.

In Word on the web (the browser version), you have to switch to the Reading view to get an accurate representation of the document layout. This is a known limitation with Word on the web.

If you have a subscription version (Microsoft 365) of Office, you should be able to edit online documents using the locally installed Office applications.

Are you opening and editing both in your desktop application on the same Mac?

(I recommend no editing in the browser version.)

    Hi Charles,

I think that would be a little challenging on my part giving the sensitivity of the documents, but I did try to just make some samples of one saved locally and the other saved via one drive an didn't see any issues come about. It looks like I can maybe just make a new copy saved to one drive and the spacing issues gets resolved on first examination, but whether it holds time will tell.

    Thanks for your help though

Could you perhaps prepare a couple of parsed-down copies of the problem files that we could look at and post share links here?

    Hi Charles

Yes, same computer, I am only editing and making changes on the desktop version that is saved locally, and when a big update is done I just copy and paste into the one drive version which is also the desktop version just linked to the one drive account ( I am not logging in online and pasting to the one drive there)
