[...] The browser version is the only way to edit live and collaborate with others. Why would it not function appropriately when it comes to page length? Why would the spacing be slightly off? (pages are displaying longer in browser version vs. opening with app/PDF). Ultimately OneDrive/SharePoint doesn't work if I can't finish a document with confidence it is correctly/cleanly formatted.
In Word on the web (the browser version), you have to switch to the Reading view to get an accurate representation of the document layout. This is a known limitation with Word on the web.
If you have a subscription version (Microsoft 365) of Office, you should be able to edit online documents using the locally installed Office applications.
