Microsoft Lists Date Display Issue: Need Help Understanding the Problem

Hi,

I've encountered a puzzling problem while importing an Excel list into Microsoft Lists. The issue revolves around dates and their display, and it's left me utterly baffled. Here's what's happening:

Upon importing the Excel list, the dates appear accurately in the Microsoft Lists preview. However, when I access the column settings and uncheck the "include time" option, the displayed date shifts back by one day. To illustrate, in my Excel file, the date reads as 2021/12/2 for December 2nd, 2021, with the time set at 7am (although the time is not visible). After importing into Microsoft Lists, during the preview, it correctly shows as 2021/12/2, 7:00am. But once I deselect "include time," the date inexplicably changes to December 1st, 2021.

I find this behavior utterly inexplicable and suspect it might be a bug. I'm reaching out for assistance – any insights or guidance you could provide would be immensely appreciated.

Thank you for your help.

Warm regards,

Samuel

    Dear Samuel,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and would like to let you know that I have tested the behavior by creating a list from the Excel workbook with Data and time format, where the data was imported without any issue but when I uncheck Include time for the Data and time column settings, I see the similar behavior as explained in the description.

Since I encounter the same behavior with different tenants, I believe there should be some backend issue, where it needs to be further checked by the related development team by collecting the HAR logs. I suggest you raise a support ticket from the Office 365 admin center, where the related team will investigate the problem further by collecting the HAR logs.

Note: To create a support ticket, you need to have admin privileges and if you aren’t admin of your Office 365 organization, please contact the admin of creating a new ticket.

Apologies for redirecting you to the related development team support as the moderators in this community have limited resources to collect and investigate the HAR logs, and to get the fast and better assistance we requested for it.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
