Install Microsoft Project Desktop App

Hi,

I've recently purchased Microsoft Project Plan, which includes a desktop client.

I've gone through the portal office link and went to 'Apps & devices' tab and clicked 'Install Project'. However, this link made me install Microsoft 365. I installed Microsoft 365 and went to the home page. Clicked Install apps, then other install options. This then took me back to the portal office webpage.

Can someone please share me the link to MS Project? I've paid for my subscription and I would like assistance on this please.

    Dear Amanjeet Gill,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and would like to suggest you to go the Subscriptions page of your Office 365 account, and see whether the Microsoft Project purchased subscription is showing:

Open your browser> Access https://portal.office.com > Enter your Office 365 account details> Click on the profile picture at the top right (beside the question mark icon)> View Account> Scroll little down and click on Subscriptions> See whether you are having the Project subscription purchased.

If purchased Project subscription purchased is listed, please check whether you are having “Project Online Desktop” license. If yes, please access your Office 365 account in the InPrivate or Incognito window and try to install the Project app:

Open your Google Chrome> Click on the three dots at the top right> Click on New Incognito window> Access https://portal.office.com > Please follow the steps in this article: Install Project - Microsoft Support

If still the same, please download and install the Microsoft SARA tool and troubleshoot the Project installation issue, reference: About the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant - Microsoft Support

If the purchased Project subscription is not listed in your Subscriptions page, please contact the Microsoft Billing phone support team for further assistance. Reference: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,
    Sophia

    Hi Sophia,

Please see the attached screenshot. My subscription is showing with the 'Project Online Desktop Client'.

I followed the steps in the article and clicked install project, but it just setup Microsoft office 365 on my desktop.

These are the windows that pop up.

When I'm in Microsoft 365, it takes me to the browser app.

I've already used the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant.

As you can see in my downloads, I have tried the methods above multiple times and the results are the same.

I would appreciate if someone can provide assistance on this?

    Dear Amanjeet Gill,

Thanks for writing back and updating. Apologies for the delay in the response as I was out of the office due to the weekend.

As per the further updates, it seems you have followed the right steps and would like to confirm whether you are able to search for the Project application in the Windows search because 4th screenshot in your reply shows the installation was done successfully.

If you are not able to find the Project app in the Windows search, please go to the Control Panel> Programs> Programs and Features> Check whether you are having the Project app listed.

If the Project app is not listed, please raise a support ticket from the Office 365 admin center where the related development team will investigate the installation problem further since you have already used the Microsoft SARA tool.
