SharePoint List column formatting Styles - change style icons not selectable (Bold, italics, borders, icons, etc)

Not sure when it started, but the Design Mode of Format Columns - Change Styles section, the style icons that are used to set Font decoration (Bold, Italics, Underline, etc), Icons (arrow, checkmark, etc) and Borders (all, bottom, left & right, etc) are not functioning. They used to work fine, but are no longer selectable or clickable. The dropdown lists for font size, text and fill color, they all still work.

Have tested this on different lists, sites, and in four different M365 tenants and on two different PCs. E3 or E5 license, Site Collection Admin and Site Owner on all sites/lists.

    Dear BarbRC,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, when you try to change style in SharePoint List column conditional formatting, icons don't work properly. I tested it on my side, and I could reproduce the same issue as yours.

Since we can reproduce the same situation as yours, the best way to troubleshoot the issue is to report the issue to the related Team. So we suggest you contact the administrators in your organizations and open a support ticket in the Office 365 admin center via the steps in the article for further help. The engineers in related team have higher permission and more resource than us to help check it from background and collect the log remotely.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Jazlyn | Microsoft Community Moderator

This was determined to be a bug and a service alert (ID: SP667935) went out on it and it is now resolved.

Impact was limited to changing formatting options using the mouse cursor. Where possible, users could bypass impact by using the keyboard shortcuts associated with the impacted functions.

Root cause: A change to the user interface responsible for facilitating formatting changes introduced a code issue that prevented the mouse cursor from interacting with the affected style formatting buttons, resulting in impact.

Final status: We’ve completed the deployment of the fix to the impacted service environments, and we've tested to confirm that the affected formatting options are restored and impact is remediated.

BC: I'm not sure how you could use keyboard shortcuts there, if I use Ctrl+B, Bold is not applied to the style of the column.

    Thanks

    Dear BarbRC,

Thank you for the detailed update information.

About the keyboard shortcut for style icons, it doesn't work on my side as well.
