How to identify files that failed to upload to OneDrive

I uploaded an 8 GB folder with multiple subfolders and hundreds of (if not thousands) files, and it says 31 items weren't uploaded to One Drive (web). I don't see any specific information on which files weren't uploaded.

I compared the size of each uploaded subfolder and found the sizes were the same as the original. So, it's impossible to identify failed files without further information. None of my files seems to apply to the causes listed on https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/fix-problems-uploading-files-on-the-onedrive-website-9afcc4a0-e344-4bc9-9c9d-59d3e802247e.

Meanwhile, I uploaded the same folder to Google Drive and had no issue. Even when there is an issue uploading to Google Drive, it shows the file names that failed to upload.

I saw a similar issue that someone posted a while ago, but I'm posting this again since it doesn't seem to have the feature after 14 months of that posting. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/fix-problems-uploading-files-on-the-onedrive-website-9afcc4a0-e344-4bc9-9c9d-59d3e802247e

I wonder why OneDrive doesn't have such an essential feature that Google Drive has had for years. Or is there any other way to identify failed files?

    Hello -

I don't see where the original question was answered - and I have users with the same issue. When uploading (not synching) many files to a SharePoint folder they get a message stating "x items weren't uploaded to 'folder name'". With no method provided to see which files did not get uploaded.

How can the user determine which files did not upload?

    Thank you.

These are all good ideas for PCs that have the same account for uploading files. My scenario is I want to upload files to my work account's OneDrive form my home PC, since we are unable to use external USB devices on our PCs. I don't want to sync my home files to one drive to my work account, only the external USB drive.

I can look at each folder by "File" size on the OneDrive but that does not include files in subfolders. For example I have a folder on my USB device that has 10,445 files, when I look at the same folder on OneDrive it specifies only the file counts of each folder not a total count of files. in Windows File Explorer you right click and click properties. I can do this on the root of the usb drive if I select all. If I do this on the external USB device I get 53,109 files and 2,993 folders. How do I get that same information to confirm if the drive has been backed up to OneDrive?

This does not help. I'm trying to upload files from my work network to send them via OneDrive so someone else. I don't use OneDrive to back up or store files. If something is not uploading it should tell me what. Otherwise I have to delete everything and start over again. You are turning OneDrive into a useless FTP product.
