i have created many a form from our team site, in a channel, by selecting, files, new, forms for excel, normally this process then opens the Ms forms app for me to create my form.

last couple of weeks when i do this process, it opens up in excel and not the forms app.

is there an issue?

ive tried to do it in both teams classic and new teams

    Dear respected Kevindel1506,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, it depends on where we create a Microsoft Form. The location of your Excel workbook depends on where you started creating the form.

If you created the form from Forms.office.com, then it will then open the Microsoft forms app and the workbook will be downloaded to your desktop as an offline file.

If you created the Microsoft Form (Forms for Excel) from OneDrive for Business/SharePoint, every time it will opens up in Microsoft Form app.

However, based on my test, if we created the Microsoft Form (Forms for Excel) from Microsoft Team channel, it would open up in Excel and not the Forms app. We may need to click on Inset tab>Form to add question in Microsoft Form

    .

Open Forms app in Microsoft Team you may add Forms tab via click Add a tab + button.

Or in Microsoft Team channel under File tab, we click on "Open in SharePoint" then it would open up in Forms app.

    .

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad

yes, i understand that, but what im saying is that until very recently, you could

    1. click teams site
    2. click channel
    3. files, new
    4. forms for excel

now to do that you have to go into the share point site of that channel.

im just wondering why the change
