Why is ctrl/end and ctrl/home not working in Excel now?

I presume it's a wonderful idea from Microsoft to drive it's users mad but the 2 shortcuts in the title no longer take you to the end or beginning of an Excel sheet. I do wish MS would stop updating/adding stuff that is not wanted. Does anyone know if there is a replacement for these 2 shortcuts?

What (if anything) do they do now? Also, which version of Excel are you using? If it's 365, which version/build number is it?

ctrl/home now gives you a new sheet labelled Macro1, ctrl/end now brings up the excel file open dialogue.

I have no idea of version number they have removed it from Help heading. PC a 1year old Dell laptop bought with office.

Had another look it's now in "Account". MS Office Home & Student 2021 (I'm retired and can't afford all the subscriptions). Version 2311 Build 17029.20108.

Its only recently it started doing it.

    Regards

    Vic

Hi, it should be working. Try an online Office repair: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

Does your keyboard have 2 options printed on each of the Home and End keys and does it also have a fn key (You might need to look carefully for the fn key). If so, try using the fn key in conjunction with the Home/End keys and see if it works as desired.

Alternatively, are the Home and End keys within the Number Keypad area. If so, try the Num Lock key which toggles these keys between numbers and arrows, Pg Up, Pg down, Home and End etc.

Usually, the options for the fn key and Num Lock key can be set to the alternate function within the BIOS. See your computer manual for how to do this because it varies with the computer brands. Some computers have a copy of the manual on the hard drive otherwise it can usually be obtained from the Computer Brand web site via Support -> Manuals.
