Why is ctrl/end and ctrl/home not working in Excel now?

I presume it's a wonderful idea from Microsoft to drive it's users mad but the 2 shortcuts in the title no longer take you to the end or beginning of an Excel sheet. I do wish MS would stop updating/adding stuff that is not wanted. Does anyone know if there is a replacement for these 2 shortcuts?

It's the same Dell laptop keyboard from new, it's just Excel that's gone wonky. Also just tried Word Ctrl/home does nothing and ctrl/end brings up file open dialogue. Also tried Notepad both keystrokes do nothing.

Wondered if it might be something to do with BIOS setup so cross checked on Older Surface book first, keystrokes don't work for Word or Excel. **** is going on?

Even stranger, checked Libre Office on Linux and works correctly so downloaded Libre Office to Win 11 and neither keystroke does anything at all!

It's not a problem with key combinations, the two keystrokes have worked ever since I started using Excel over 20 years ago.

It does sound like a fn key issue to me. On my Dell, the Home and End are the f11 and f12 keys respectively. In Excel Ctrl+f11 is the shortcut key for inserting a macro sheet and ctrl+f12 is the combination for File - Open.

If you press f1 on its own, does Help pop up? If so, your laptop is set to use the function keys as function keys, so you'd need to use ctrl+fn+f11 for home and similarly for end, or use the fn lock key.

Only if MS have changed something, it's worked for last 2 years on this Dell but suddenly stopped working this week.

If you press the fn lock key, do the ctrl+home and ctrl+end keys work? If so, it does sound to me like a change in the bios settings. There aren't any settings in Office relating to that.
