Errors when saving an Excel workbook

I was using a workbook that was stored on a OneDrive, and my connection was briefly interrupted from the OneDrive and now when I try to save my file, it comes up with an error message:

"Errors were detected while saving '/Volumes/codb/OneDrive - Cedarbrook Outdoor Design Build, Inc/Tina/Estimating Tool/Finals/Estimating Tool v610 OC - July 2024.xlsm'. Microsoft Excel may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in a new file, click Continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel."

This is a huge workbook, with tons of macros so I do have to save it as so. This file is also quite vital to the company I work for, so I'd rather not have to lose it. I have tried copying to a new workbook, but to no avail.

So i did try to go in and see the file versions, but that option was grayed out so I couldn't click it. I should also say that the file in the OneDrive folder has disappeared completely, so the only way to access it is on my computer, but if I were to accidentally close it, it'd be gone totally. I did contact our IT guy to see if it was an issue with our company server, but he wasn't able to help much, and isn't too familiar with Excel.

Have you tried restoring it to a previous version and save it to Desktop?

If issue only with file which is saved on OneDrive, it could be bug. I'd suggest you raise it to Microsoft directly.

Please contact your admin/IT department create a support ticket via Microsoft 365 Admin Center> Support> New service request. Support team there will have the correct channel and resources to help you investigate more and find what exactly the reason has caused this situation.
