Sharepoint PDF plugin

We are using the PDF plugin/extension to view (in browser -Edge) pdf docs stored in Sharepoint.

Previously when we opened a pdf doc it was shown in the browser with a white sorrounding background.

However, since last week pdf docs are opening with a black sorrounding background which is not acceptable to our users.

We cannot find any setting for changing pdf colours. The browser appearance setting does not affect the pdf display.

We suspect there has been some browser update.

    Dear Hanif888,

Thank you for posting your query in our community.

As it is the same Edge version but different users have different performances, we believe it is not related to the Edge update. And it is not happening to all users, hence it is not SharePoint backend updates as well. It looks more likely to be related to a Windows system problem. We'd suggest you contact technical support to have a solid fix on the issue. Here is the entrance.

you can refer to this article on how to reach our support team click -->> Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

At the same time, I would like to provide some workarounds for your reference.

    1. You may try removing the recent Windows update and see if the issue can be resolved.
    2. Kindly change to a different Windows profile and check the problem
    3. You may consider re-installing the Windows system to a different version.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!

    Yours sincerely,

We are using Windows 10 Enterprise. We get regular automatic updates.

Edge Version 124.0.2478.97 (Official build) (64-bit). This is what I have and the rest of the users. I do not see the problem but some of the users do, yet we have the same version of Edge.

Unfortunately, I cannot paste a screenshot due to site security issues. However, I notice that the background is not totally black but transparent black where you can vaguely see the sharepoint folder screen at the back with the pdf doc displayed in middle of the screen.

    Dear Hanif888,

Thank you for posting your query in our community.

To be honest, we have received several similar problems recentlyIt seems to be related to some updates in the backend. However, per testing on our own side, it is not reproducing in my testing environment. To have further troubleshooting, would you mind sharing the below information with us?

1, Did you ever have a Windows update recently? Kindly share the picture of the related Windows system version and updates.

2, Kindly share the picture of your Edge version. My one is Version 124.0.2478.97. If possible, please change to the same version to check the result. 3, Does this happen to all users, multiple users or just a single user?

4, Please try it on a different computer with same account and let me know the result.

5, Please try right clicking the file >> Open in browser, kindly share a picture with us.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!

    Yours sincerely,
