Hi Tina,
just letting you know that I fixed the problem by toggling the "show quick access toolbar" option off then back on, and now the auto-save button is showing correctly

Hi,
Starting recently, the Autosave button in the top left of the menu bar is not showing for me in Excel only. The issue happens on multiple computers. The autosave button still correctly shows on PowerPoint and Word. Why?

Dear Carolina Jud,
Good day!! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
I understand your concern. I'd like to convey that I didn't reproduce this issue when testing in Excel desktop application.
If you open Excel, go to File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar, is the Turn AutoSave On/Off command still added in Quick Access Toolbar, as shown below?
If yes, as you mentioned this issue happens on multiple computers, may I know the detailed version of your Excel application? Please navigate to to File >Account, then capture a full screenshot of Product Information.
Since this issue started recently, may I know if your Office was updated recently? Is the issue started after Office update or any other change?
Look forward to your reply. Thanks for your time and cooperation!
With your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Sincerely,

Hi Tina,
I checked the option you mentioned. Turn Auto-save on/off was already enabled. I toggled off and on to see if that helped, but it didn't still have the problem. I also tried to "reset customizations" but that did not fix the problem either.
I never personally/manually update Office, but I don't know if it automatically did some updates or not. I'm not sure. I have not changed any settings recently, the problem just randomly appeared.
Here is my product information:
Dear Carolina Jud,
Thank you for posting back and providing the detailed information.
I'm sorry for the late reply because I was out of Office.
I have tested in same version and same channel of Excel as yours, Autosave button is showing.
To troubleshoot the issue, you may try Online Repair Office on one computer, just for test.
Please check this support article for detailed steps: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support
However, if same issue still happens in Excel, consider that you mentioned this issue appears on multiple computers, and I didn't reproduce this issue, it's better to investigate this issue by remotely checking an affected computer, collecting the background logs to find the root cause.
I sincerely recommend you raise a support ticket from Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Reference: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn The support team has higher permission and more resource than us, this would be the most efficient way in handling this case for you.
