Can't authenticate and login using Microsoft Authenticator app. It keeps telling me to grab code from the app itself.

Question

I have a school edu Microsoft account and can't authenticate, all two suggested ways are verify the sent code in Microsoft Authenticator app. Then I downloaded the app on my phone, login using the app, and it gets the same result, telling me to grab the code using the app while I'm using the app. All I can do is change the password
