How to get CheckBox in the "insert tab" for EXCEL.

Hi!

I am trying to add the new "check box" feature in the insert tab. I am currently using the developer tab followed by adding the check box and then formatting them individually. This is very time consuming and I know there is a more efficient way. I would like to simply insert the checkbox and be done. I know there is a recent update that has the "checkbox" feature in the insert ribbon. This is not showing up on my EXCEL. I am current on all updates. I am using the following software: Version 16.85 (24051214). I am a college student and have the 365 Microsoft insider account. I have tried everything. Please help!!

The in-cell check box control became available to me today (26-Jul-2024) in the Current Channel of Microsoft 365.

I agree with your cautions wholeheartedly. Most of the time beta builds are fine, but when there are big changes in the works, a beta build can be unusable for some users. Of course, Microsoft (and other developers) want feedback when things go wrong, but you should be adept enough to know how to revert should things take a dive.

You must have a Microsoft 365 Family or Personal Subscription. License

If you have a Business subscription you need to contact the IT group for the organization/employer who owns the License & provides you with the software.

The Checkbox Tool also is available in the Excel Online web app.
