Getting an error while sharing any file or folder from onedrive to another office365 tenant user.

Error: Couldn't find an exact match.

Other tenancy user is already present in the guest user list and the strange part is if the try to share the file with the same external user from sharepoint site it works.

    Dear Harshit Jain,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I understand that you are encountering an error while trying to share a file or folder from OneDrive to another Office 365 tenant user.

Based on the error message, it seems that there might be an issue with the guest user's account. Please ensure that the guest user's account is active and that the email address is correct.

Additionally, you may try removing the guest user from the guest user list and then re-adding them. To do this, please follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center > Click on "Users" and then Active users > Guest users.
    2. Find the guest user's account and click on it > Click on "Delete a user" from ribbon.
    3. Re-add the guest user by clicking on "Add a guest user" and entering their email address.
    4. Save the changes and try sharing the file or folder again.

If the issue persists, I understand how frustrating this situation can be and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

I'm afraid it needs to check the guest user account from the backend side via remote assistance and collect the background logs.

As this Forum community has limited resources, the backend support team there has more permission than us, they have more resources to investigate the issue from the backend, they have Escalate channel to escalate your issue to check more and collect log reports for the root cause.

Try raise a support ticket to contact the related team:  Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Note: To create a support ticket, you need to have admin privileges. Reference: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

Please accept my apologies for redirecting you to the related team support, as the moderators in this community have limited resources to verify the backend information and to get the quick and better assistance, we requested for this.

Your understanding and patience will be greatly appreciated. Have a great day!!

    Sincerely,

    Tina | Microsoft Community Moderator
