Adding rows in excel moves the reference from the cells

Hello,

In the past few days, my co-workers and I encountered an issue when trying to add rows in our Excel files.

For some reason, When a new row is added, the cell references in the existing rows below do not update automatically.

We have tried updating Excel, repairing the Office installation, checking the reference types (relative vs. absolute), and removing the adds-in. Despite these efforts, the issue persists.

We will be waiting for your response.

Thank you!

Our IT department followed these instructions and reverted back to the suggested version. This did not fix the issue and the workbook still breaks when rows are added.

Could you share a test file to reproduce your issue? It could be bug. Recently, some users also reported a similar situation.

For sharing a sample workbook, upload to OneDrive or any other cloud drives. Then post a link here.
