    Select File > Options.

Select Advanced in the navigation pane on the left.

Clear the check box "After pressing Enter, move selection".

    Click OK.

Hi Gil. I am an Excel user like you.

There is one more alternative which I like because it preserves the options of moving around the spreadsheet with the Tab key moving right (or how you set it) and the Enter key moving down (or how you set it). Excel already has the third option to enter the data and stay in the same cell by clicking the checkmark to the left of the Formula Bar.

    Or press Ctrl+Enter.

    Thanks.

    That was an easy solution.

I had done that on my old laptop, but I'd forgotten where to find it.
