Figured it out :)
Had to turn off the Add-in called "Acrobatexceladdin" and the errors stopped.

Everytime I create a new Excel document it opens with a Visual Basics for Applications Error Run-time error '1004': Method 'Name' of object 'AddIn' failed message.
I have to press End to close the error before I can start a worksheet.
This is new behavior in the last couple of days. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Excel but the error still appears.
I am using Excel for Mac Version 16.89 (24090815)
MacOS Sonoma version 14.4.1
Any ideas on how to get the error to stop popping up whenever I create a new worksheet or open a saved worksheet?
Thanks

Man, you are a genius! I loved that you were able to solve this without help. These kinds of errors are the ones that take a lot of time, and experts who have never experienced this issue will never understand. They’ll say things like: "First, make sure your computer is turned on.".
Anyway, you solved my problem. Thanks!
Likewise. This just started happening to me a couple of days ago. Turned that add-in off and the error is gone!
Thank you for this - but I don't have any add-ins and I am still getting the error. When I view "my add-ins" it I see that there aren't any. Can add-ins be hidden?
Ah - yes. after I submitted this, the thread mentioning the other location showed up.
Problem solved = thanks!
What @Gary Loney said MIGHT work if that addin was installed in Excel on my computer, but it is not. I have NO ADDINS installed in Excel
The bug only started when MSFT's ADHD infected GenZ programmers jammed the latest version of Excel, 16.89 (24090815) down my throat. THIS ONLY HAPPENS with this latest version of Excel. Whenever you start the program, or for that matter, just close and open a blank worksheet, the infernal message pops up and won't go away until you hit END. It's annoying as H*ll.
I HAVE NO ADDINS INSTALLED IN EXCEL!!!!! Clicking on "Insert Addins / My Addins" returns a completely blank list of "Office Add-ins." YES I have the POS that is Acrobat Pro "Continuous Release" Version 2024.003.20121 installed, but neither that version, nor any other version, of Acrobat (pro or otherwise) has EVER been removed (or attempted to be removed) from this computer since it was brand new. So, if Acrobat Pro gratuitously installed any Addins in Excel, it did it long ago.
So, stop blaming the issue on others, MSFT and fix the d**mn problem.
