Error encountering while editing Excel sheet in Confluence.

We are experiencing an error when attempting to edit an Excel sheet embedded in our Confluence application. This problem has arisen recently, whereas there were no issues with editing the sheet in the past. The error message is shown in the attached images.

Details:

Initial Warning: We initially received a warning indicating that future versions of Microsoft Office would block access to the Confluence page: "Future versions of Microsoft Office will block access to 'https://d3.ce.capgemini.com/confluence'."

Subsequent Error Message: Later, Microsoft Office displayed the following error: "Microsoft Office has blocked access to 'https://d3.ce.capgemini.com/confluence' because the source uses a sign-in method that may be insecure. We recommend contacting your IT support to discuss how to make this file more secure."

Attached: Screenshots of both the warning and the error message are provided for reference.

Actions Taken:

Attempted Workaround: We found a suggested workaround on the Microsoft Community forums: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/error-microsoft-office-has-blocked-access-to-https/f6ca22a0-1712-45b5-92c0-72694cc8b2e8 .

This workaround was applied and reviewed with our IT Helpdesk, but unfortunately, the error persists.

Support Requests:

Atlassian Support: We also contacted Atlassian Support since Confluence is an Atlassian application. Atlassian Support confirmed that there were no issues on their end related to Confluence.

We are seeking additional assistance to resolve this issue. Please provide guidance on any further steps we can take or suggest alternative solutions to address this problem and restore functionality for our users.

Best Regards,

Pranav

I'd suggest you raise it to Microsoft directly.

Please contact your admin/IT department create a support ticket via Microsoft 365 Admin Center> Support> New service request. Support team there will have the correct channel and resources to help you investigate more and find what exactly the reason has caused this situation.
