Microsoft authenticator

So I’ve downloaded the app on my new phone and now instead of allowing me to put the 2 digits in that’s display on the laptop.The app gives me 2 digits aswell. What could be the problem and how can it be fixed?I need to fix it as I can’t log into my study website,please assist me
