Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with accessing my Microsoft account. I have two-factor authentication enabled on this account, but unfortunately, I did not set up a backup phone number or an alternate email address for receiving verification codes. Currently, I am unable to receive the code in the Authenticator app as it requires a code to access, and my computer also requests a code or numbers that I cannot provide.

Could you please advise on how I can regain access to my account?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,

    Dear Elask01,

Good morning to you and thanks for your post in the Microsoft community.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting in to your account due to Microsoft authenticator. Because your query is related to the Microsoft Authenticator app, we have a separate community team, so it is recommended to post through Microsoft Authenticator - Microsoft Q&A so that a support agent from that team can verify and provide you with the necessary information.

May I double confirm what Microsoft account is it, outlook.com or Microsoft 365 business account like user@company_domain.com? If you are using a business account, these accounts are fully controlled by the company. You can contact your M365/IT administrator so they can add another authentication method for you through the Azure admin portal, such as phone/SMS, so you have more options for accessing your account. More information on how to add them here. Refer to Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn.

If you need guidance on how to find your admin, see How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support. If there is no other admin to help with this, please contact our hotline and the support team will create a service request ticket for you, Find Microsoft 365 for business support phone numbers by country or region - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

At this time, your kind cooperation and understanding will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your precious time. Stay safe and healthy.
