Link & Keep Source Formatting Option for Pasting is Gone (Windows)

I consistently use the "Link and Keep Source Formatting" paste option to paste ranges from Excel to Word and be able to update the data dynamically from Word. However, that paste option now no longer shows up when I try to paste a range of Excel cells.

Is this option no longer available? How can I get it to show up again?

I have tried opening the Links option and clicking Update Now, but my data is not updating. I am able to open the source, which leads me to the correct data source, but the data does not update.

Does the Links dialog box provide any clues? For example, could one or more objects be locked?

No, they are not set as locked. They aren't updating whether I check automatic or manual.
