Can't pull custom security attributes when setting Dynamic User in Security Group

I am trying to populate users into a Security group using custom security attributes with an attribute set of "site locations" when setting Dynamic User in Membership Type but it is failing.

I can pull the custom attributes from the user account from exchange using user.extensionAttribute1 -eq "Houston".

This does pull up the user however I do not want to go thru exchange and user account if I don't have to.

I would rather predefine custom security attribute that we can assign to users for different security groups and AU's

    Hi Ronald Loun,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community.

According to your description, initially I have found below kind of information which are discussing various things for custom attribute, if it may provide some suitable information:

Creating dynamic groups with custom attribute - Microsoft Community Hub

Manage rules for dynamic membership groups in Microsoft Entra ID - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

Assign, update, list, or remove custom security attributes for a user - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

According to your description, seems like your concern environment may be associated with Microsoft Graph API, I was consulting your thread with my team members, I would like to share some more specific redirection information with you, actually Microsoft has separate community channel resources where our related most valuable professional and community members can provide possible information for certain different support scope resources platform, so would you mind to contacting and placing your concern on our dedicated separate Microsoft Graph - Microsoft Q&A community channel?

Actually, this community does not focus Microsoft Graph or Rest API or any programing script  related scenario. But we are mainly focusing pure Microsoft 365 exchange online and mail flow related concern on this community.

However, there is an another specific channel for your mentioned concern where you may get some possible information for certain specific resources and platform from our related community members.

I would greatly appreciate your valuable cooperation and valuable time.

    Sincerely,
    Vaidya Darpan
