We are attempting to set up tasks for our large music events in outlook "To do" function that can be shared across various staff. Despite numerous google searches that state that reminders can be sent, I am unable to find out how to send email reminders for tasks and whether they can allocated to specific people. Can you help please? According to google searches I should be able to add reminders via a "Remind Me" function, but it doesn't appear on my list.

Well a couple months ago, if I added a “Due date” on a task in To Do, the day before and on the day it would send an email as a reminder for that task. That is no longer happening. Was this an intentional change? Or is this a bug? I don’t see any settings that I changed related to that, that I can see.

I've tried adding a task (To Do) from everywhere — mobile app, web app, and Outlook macOS app.

The only exception where it still sends an email reminder for the task/To Do, is if I've created the task from Teams (or a Teams meeting notes list).

I contacted Mac Outlook support, and they were not able to help me and asked I contact 365 support. I figured I'd look on the forums first. But this is definitely a bug.

    Hi,

Thank you for the reply. I am using new outlook on mac.

I have done these steps already and it only shows email notification.

Is it possible to get the reminder email?

And in new outlook for mac, there is no option to assign task to someone or in the web version as well.

    Hello Aakriti Shrestha,

Thank you for posting this case in Microsoft Community!

Based on your description: Reminder email from Outlook for to-do list and assigning task. I would like to cooperate with you working on this case. To clarify this case, are you using Classic Outlook for WindowsOutlook on the webor New Outlook for Windows? If using Outlook on the webor New Outlook for Windows, currently it does not support to create the task with reminder added to assign others. It is only supported to create and assign the tasks to your own mailbox directly. And you also can add the reminder via Remind mefeature if you want. See more information, you may check this article as reference:

Create tasks with To Do in Outlook

Use Microsoft To Do for tasks and reminders in Outlook on the web

If you are using Classic Outlook for Windows, you can access Tasks app and create the task with reminder added to assign others easily. Here are the steps you may check as shared:

    1. Firstly, you may find the Tasks app showing in the left app bar list to createNew Task. If not available, you may go to More apps and search & pin this app in the list.
    2. Next, you can click Assign Task options to create a task which could assign to others.
    3. You can edit this task and apply Follow Up to assign the Reminder if you want. Finally, you may send out this task normally.

Hope the above workaround would be helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to let me know, I will keep assisting you.

Your understanding and patience will be appreciated.

    Thank you!
