Hi so I recently lost my phone which originally had the Microsoft authenticator app on it. Is there any way to recover/ reset the Microsoft authenticator, since I am unable to sign into my business account now, without the authenticator? help would be greatly appreciated.

    Dear Aidan Lien,

Good day! Thank you for posting to the Microsoft community. We will be happy to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the Microsoft Authenticator app due to losing a phone. It must be really frustrating not being able to access your account.

Since your issue is related to the Microsoft Authenticator app and our team is primarily focused on Microsoft 365 builds such as Outlook and Exchange Online, I recommend that you post your issue to the Microsoft Authenticator community through Microsoft Authenticator - Microsoft Q&A. The community there is very knowledgeable and might be able to provide more specific help.

Alternatively, if you are using a work/work account, these accounts are fully controlled by the company. You can contact your M365/IT administrator so that they can add another authentication method through the Azure Management Portal, such as by phone or SMS, so that you have more options for accessing your account. To learn more about how to add them, click here, Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn.

If you need instructions on how to find your administrator, see How do How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support. If there is no other admin to help you, please contact our hotline and the technical support team will create a service request ticket for you and they will restore access. See Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support.

Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated at this stage. If there is anything else I can do to help you, please let me know. I'm happy to help.

Thank you very much for your precious time. Stay safe and healthy.
