Hi @William Gao ,
By default, Outlook looks at the received date/time or when you last changed and saved the message, whichever is later for the archiving feature.
When a mail is flagged, the modified time will get changed accordingly, see the test result below(modified time changed from 8/9 to 9/8):
So for your scenario, the aging period for the flagged mail is calculated starting from the time you flagged it.
In order to change the default behavior and force Outlook to ignore the modified time, please follow the steps below to add the resigitry:
Important: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.
- Open Registry Editor(regedit).
- Expand and go to the path below:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences - Right click in the blank area of the right pane, click New > DWORD (32-bit) value:
- Rename the DWORD to "ArchiveIgnoreLastModifiedTime" and set the value as 1:
- Close registry editor and restart Outlook . Check if the archiving starts correctly
