Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hi @Matias Morales,
Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing the issue you're experiencing.
I understand you're trying to enable the “Run a Script” option in Outlook and have already followed the instructions, including restarting Outlook and allowing all macros. I appreciate the effort you've put in so far, and I’d be happy to walk you through a few additional steps that can help ensure everything is set up correctly.
Please refer to the following steps and try to change the registry:
- Select Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then select OK.
- Locate and then select the registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Security
DWORD: EnableUnsafeClientMailRules
Value: 1
- Restart Outlook.
(Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before making changes, back up the registry to restore it in case something goes wrong.)
Then “Run a script" will be displayed under the Select actions when you create rules.
- Check for Group Policy Restrictions
- If you're on a corporate network, group policies may override registry settings.
- Please consult your IT administrator to verify if any restrictions are in place.
If you’ve completed all the steps above and the issue still persists, please let me know your Outlook version and whether you're using a corporate or personal setup. I’ll be happy to assist further.
Thank you again for your patience and for choosing Microsoft Q&A forum. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
