SharePoint Document Set Default View

I have created a custom Document Set and I want to assign a Default View for its content.

In the past there used to be a setting in Content Type / Document Settings for Default Welcome Page View, but it's not available anymore.

I created a View and in its Folders settings I have chosen the option to show it in folders of my custom Document Set Content Type. I have also made it the Default View.

All these settings don't seem to be respected. The View dedicated for Document Set is visible everywhere in the parent Document Library, but at the same time it didn't become the Default View of my custom Document Set.

Does anyone experience the same issue?

Update:

I created "Load Files" View for "IDEA Load File Archive" Document Set and "All Documents" was there already for everything else. Both were set as Default with the "Load Files" View visibility limited to Document Set:

User's image

There used to be a Document Set setting for a Default View:

User's image

but I saw it only once and now it's gone (i.e. this option is not available anymore)! However, I managed to set it to "Load Files" when I saw it today and that apparently persisted that View in my Document Set.

However, when I navigate outside of the Document Set, the View doesn't revert back to "All Documents", it stays on "Load Files"!

So I removed the Default View checkbox form this dedicated View:

User's image

But that didn't change anything.

This View shouldn't be even available outside of the Document Set.

I remember this used to work fine a few years ago, but it looks like MS messed it up in the meantime.
