Hi! My name is Aj and Im an Independent Advisor here to help! Since your daughter is 13, multiplayer and cross-play is managed by Xbox family settings.

To fix this you need to sign in to the parent account at account.microsoft.com/family and add your daughter's account to the family group if it is not already there. Then, go to Xbox online safety settings at www.xbox.com/settings and make sure the options "You can join multiplayer games" and "You can play with people outside Xbox Live" are set to Allow. Have her sign out and back in to Minecraft after changes.

    Dear Braylee Kelley,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Thanks for contacting us regarding the error when signing in for your child's account. I am sorry for what you have met, and please do not worry, we will work together in order to resolve your case effectively.

The "Guardian" error code means that your daughter's Microsoft account is classified as a child account, and it requires a parent's (the "guardian's") approval for her to play multiplayer games or communicate with others online.

And here is how to troubleshoot it:

    1. If you have never set this up before: You will need to create a family group and add your daughter's account to it.
    2. If you have already set this up: You just need to adjust the privacy settings.
    1. Sign in: Go to the official Microsoft Family Safety website: https://account.microsoft.com/family
    2. Authenticate: Sign in with your own (the parent/guardian's) Microsoft account email and password. Do not use your daughter's login info.
    3. Select the Child Account: You will see a list of your family members. Click on your daughter's name or account.
    4. Adjust Privacy & Settings: Look for the tabs or sections for "Multiplayer" and "Communication."
      • Multiplayer games: Turn this setting ON. This allows her to join and host multiplayer games like her Minecraft world.
      • You can join multiplayer games: Set this to "Allow" or "On".
      • You can create and join clubs: This can be set to "Allow" if needed, but multiplayer is the key one.
      • Communicate with voice and text: For Minecraft, it's best to also set this to "Allow" or "On" so she can use the in-game chat to talk to her friend.
    5. Save Changes: Make sure you save any changes you make.
    • Lastly, restart Minecraft.

Once again, thanks for letting us know your situation. I hope this helps you get thing sorted out quickly! Wish you all the luck <3
