The gear icon is typically found in the Outlook Web App, so if you're using Outlook Classic (desktop version), the steps are a little different.

To access your settings in Outlook Classic, please follow these steps:

Open Outlook.

Click on File in the top-left corner.

Select Options from the left-hand menu.

A new window will open where you can customize your mail, calendar, contacts, and more.

If you're looking to manage your account settings (such as email accounts or data files), you can go to:

File > Account Settings > Account Settings

And if you're trying to adjust how your inbox looks (like the reading pane or message preview), you can use the View tab on the ribbon.

this + sign in the date box showed up, and I cannot find a way to remove it - it clutters up my calendar pages with useless icons that I do not want to see, and interferes with accessibility. The instructions for removal are useless - I do not have a settings icon in the upper right of my page, and I get nothing when i right or left click on my calendar. This is a most unwelcome change that I did not ask for and did not have the opportunity to test or agree to. My work location is a useless piece of information and I do not want my calendars cluttered up.

Is there any way to delete the Plus sign at the top of each day?

Don't want it and don't need it.

I don't have the gear icon either, but I found I can turn this off from file>options>calendar>Work hours and location - then unchecking all the boxes.

I am using Outlook classic, because "New Outlook" does not allow me to scroll through the calendar, which is very annoying

for the desktop...if you simply uncheck each day and then restart outlook from that day forward they won't show up.

I was able to remove the icon from all days on the calendar that I have not already marked as Out of Office.

Select the Work Location button on the Home menu's toolbar:
You will get a popup showing the days of the week, start and end times, plus a location dropdown, and a 'Share your location' dropdown:
I unchecked all of the days and selected 'Can't view any location information' in the 'Share your location' dropdown:
When I refreshed, the icons were gone except for my Out of Office dates

It appears you're seeing a daily prompt in your Outlook calendar to set your work location and would prefer to remove it. This feature is part of Outlook’s hybrid work support, but you can easily adjust or disable it based on your preferences.

Here’s how to remove the daily work location indicator:

Go to Outlook Settings:
- Open Outlook
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner > Navigate to Calendar tab
Navigate to the Calendar tab > hoose Work hours and location.
Update Your Location Preferences:
- Disable Show off location on my calendar.
- Optionally, choose Can't view any location infomation
- Click Save to apply your updated settings.

Once completed, the location prompt should no longer appear on your calendar days.

There does not seem to be a solution for desktop users. I agree with others, this feature is not useful and is incredibly annoying. Please advise.

I really hate the location icon showing up on my calendar. When you set work hours, it seems to require that you have a location. I don't want a location, but I want work hours. Why do I have to have both?

Hi. My system does not save the change in the 'show work location on my calendar.' I untick the box, Save the change, and restart Outlook. When I go back into Outlook, the 'show work location' box is checked again. Therefore, the silly little pluses are showing all over my calendar.

The most unwelcome and annoyed new feature "set work location" icon on the right corner need to be removed but no way I can do it now.
