Missing and non functional features! Important!

Hi dear,

I want to report missing and non-functional features in Teams for education. For both Classwork and Class Notebook. Many others are saying this on the internet, so I hope it can be fixed.

Classwork:

  • There needs to be an 'unpublish' button. Deleting is not what you want in many cases, and, weirdly, this button doesn't exist.
  • Adding tabs in Classwork makes it way more clearly arranged. Just like the tabs at the chat (e.g. General), where you can add more if needed. In this case, you can make a classwork tab for each term, for example.

Class Notebook:

  • I want to use a template with multiple sections and pages in all of my Class Notebooks, and also share this with my colleagues. Yes, you can make a Class Notebook based on another one, but half of the time, it isn't synchronised fully, and I'm missing pages.
  • It should be easier to share a template and use it. Just for example, an import button for a .onepkg file. We as a school want to have the same template for all teachers, but this is extremely difficult to reach (keeping in mind not everyone is as tech-savvy).
  • The welcome page in Class Notebook needs to be locked for students to edit (or at least you have a choice).
  • When you open Class Notebook, it automatically goes back to the Welcome page. However, you would like it to open on the page you last visited.

There are thousands of schools that use Microsoft and Teams for Education, and millions of students and teachers. Some of my points reflect frustrations that already existed in 2020. I hope that more priority can be given to this, so that it can become a better working environment for students and teachers.

Kind regards,

Marissa

Hello @Marissa Heijltjes

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed, thoughtful, and constructive feedback.

Your perspective as an educator using these tools every day is incredibly valuable, and I want to acknowledge the effort you've put into outlining these important points for both Classwork and Class Notebook.

I have read through your suggestions, and I completely agree that these features would be significant improvements to the teaching and learning experience in Teams. Many of your points are frustrations shared by other educators in the community, and you've articulated them perfectly.

The most effective way to ensure this feedback reaches the Microsoft product and engineering teams directly is to post it on the official Microsoft Feedback Portal. This platform is constantly reviewed by the teams responsible for developing Teams for Education to prioritize future updates.

I also found an existing feedback thread that aligns with one of your suggestions. By adding your vote and comments, you help increase their visibility: For Class Notebook - Open to Last Visited Page:

For any of your other ideas that don’t yet have a thread, I encourage you to create a new post on the portal. If you share the link here, I’ll be happy to help amplify it by encouraging others to vote as well.

Lastly, if you found this response helpful, please consider clicking "Accept Answer" so that others in the community can easily find and join the conversation. Your voice truly matters, and feedback like yours helps shape the future of Microsoft Education tools.

Thank you again for your passion and advocacy.
